Very interesting article in The Business Magazine around Pay Growth in Hampshire. Do we have a shortage of a skilled work force pushing the increases in Automotive, Property and Manufacturing? Did the increase in the minimum wage effect Hospitality and Care is not even mentioned. In 10th place is education; is that really where we want it to be?
Property is one of the top sectors for salary growth in the past year, according to a survey by Hampshire-based CV-Library. Property comes second after the automotive industry, with 8.6% growth in pay. The top 10 in salary growth – comparing February 2017 with February last year – were: Automotive 9.1% Property 8.6% Manufacturing 7.7% Legal 7.5% Accounting/Finance 6.4% Hospitality 3.7% Recruitment 3.6% Retail 3.1% IT 2.4% Education 2.2% The top industries for job growth were manufacturing, automotive and engineering – suggesting that factories were recruiting significantly in the past year.
