This rail worker narrowly missed being struck by a train that was forced to make an emergency stop.
The railway worker was lucky on this occasion to have walked away uninjured that also prevented exposing the train driver to psychological injury had a collision unfolded.
It is a salutary lesson for us all to be well rested when undertaking work whether it be driving a car, operating machinary or walking across a train track! If you are an employer you should have a system in place to ensure that your workers have the appropriate number of breaks and are not exposed to an unnecessary level of risk. If you are tired you could be a risk to yourself as well as to others.
